    • Retrograde team member, Janitorial supervisor, dish washer
      • Oct 2003 - Feb 2007

These positions are seasonal. My first year as a dish washer I spend a total of 11 months down at Mcmurdo Station. My job entailed maintaining the galley and assisting with some of the food preparation. As Janitorial Supervisor I had a few professional buildings that I maintained on a daily basis. Mainly I supported 5 members of the janitorial staff; Advising and assisting in each crew members daily cleaning routine. My final season on the Retrograde team I worked with five other people to help minimize the foot print at Mcmurdo Station. This required us to go into storage buildings and verify quantities of items such as vehicle equipment, and building materials and remove items that have not been and would not be used in a five year span. All this material was then boxed up and clearly labeled for sale at auction in California. I was also one of the main forklift operators for that season. At the end of each season a cargo vessel would bring down supplies for the fallowing season and take unused or unwanted items off the base. My job during this time was to operate the forklift to help unload and reload the cargo vans. Show less
