The goal was to provide Canada’s tech ecosystem with innovative funding alternatives by offering fast, fairly priced and user friendly risk capital. Espresso provides venture debt in the form of tax credit financing to early stage companies. As these companies mature, we offer recurring revenue financing to qualifying enterprises. Our funding solutions fill the gap between bank debt and equity capital. In the case of our tax credit financing, funding can be accessed in as little as 10 business days. Since inception in 2009, Espresso deployed over $100 million of risk capital in the form of venture debt into more than 200 companies, ranging from startups to expansion stage. In 2014, we funded over 100 transactions valued at almost $30 million. The investors in Espresso's funds received top quartile returns for investments in this asset class. Show less
