  I lead tutoring at JVS, and I am responsible for directing our volunteer tutors. Additionally, I work primarily with students who are close to graduation to help them finish the program. I manage and track student data, and ensure that the students under my watch are on the right track towards graduating. I work closely with our partners at Boston Public Schools and I help ensure that students meet their goals and are able to move onto whatever their next steps are.

  As an Americorps Member at JVS, I performed a wide variety of roles, from individual tutoring and classroom instruction, to student data management. I assisted with almost every subject in the Adult Diploma Pathway, and helped ensure that students got as much out of their time in the classroom as possible. Additionally, since COVID-19 hit during my tenure as an Americorps member, I spent a great deal of time helping JVS ADP switch to operating remotely. I worked to reach out to students and keep them informed of the change as I also helped teach classes and support teachers during our transition to remote work. Show less
