    • Summer Intern
      • Jul 2016 - Aug 2016

Collaborative internship in an immersive setting involving learning new technologies on the fly, and implementing that knowledge on a group project with fellow learners. This was not only a technical challenge, but also a social one, as it involved grouping with unfamiliar students and building a project meant to illustrate a story as a presentation about storm run off in New York City in the face of climate change. We harnessed map data from openDataNYC and QGIS, an open-source mapping software tool. We all contributed to creating a safe, supportive, and energetic community thus allowing individuals at different levels to flourish and succeed with all the dynamic needs and learning styles. This required much delegation in terms of directing other team members and having the approachability necessary so that we could maximize our productivity and strengthen our work relationships.
