  I am a Research Fellow in the ALPHA-X (Advanced Laser-Plasma High-energy Accelerators towards X-rays) group led by Prof. Dino Jaroszynski at the University of Strathclyde. The group contains 20+ researchers and has both a theoretical and experimental division. My research activities have been mainly in High Voltage generation (used for compact accelerator design), Terahertz studies (extending to single cycle studies e.g. Transition radiation) and nanometre scale surface production (metal surfaces for electron beam line experiments). I am the Laser Lab Manager for ALPHA-X which includes running and maintaining both laser systems in the SILIS group. The main ALPHA-X laser is one of the largest University based laser systems in the UK, and requires considerable management to be reliable and useful for experiments. I have the sole responsibility of running the ALPHA-X laser system and lead the management of the laser system. As a member of the ALPHA-X projects experimental team, I co-investigate/lead experiments on the beam line and mentor 5 experimental PhD students and junior research staff. This includes scheduling of experiments and also providing technical/experimental support.
