Firstly, our proposed method requires no training. It takes advantage of transfer learning using pretrained models as feature extractor. Secondly, it uses a lightweight architecture which results in an inference time that is significantly faster than most previous works. Moreover, our work builds upon a previous work. We alter their method and support each decision of our algorithm with a clear mathematical interpretation. As a matter of fact, these changes result in higher performance, both in terms of accuracy and inference time. Evaluated on the recently released MAD dataset, our method matches the current state-of-the-art which makes use of a more complex architecture and adversarial training. Finally, we believe the advantages of our method, both in terms of training procedure complexity and inference efficiency, are highly valuable for the industry. Altogether, it allows wide applicability for optical inspection within manufactories. Show less
