  New Product Introduction Industrial engineer for the Laser Centre of Excellence. I had responsibility for the future business and products which were in Design/Development and Production lead-in. I was the manufacturing authority (across numerous projects) working as part of an integrated project team to establish the manufacturability of the designs, lead development and qualification testing, develop initial assembly routings, schedules and BOM’s. Responsibilities included:▪ Management of the manufacturing function within a Programme/Project IPT to achieve the Customer/Programme/Project specific delivery requirements.▪ Identify and source production critical materials including manufacturing assembly tooling and aids via external supplier or internal DFM team.▪ Management of function budgets per project.▪ Requirements planning and purchasing of tooling and parts in line with production supply & demand, carefully adhering to lead times or JIT practices.▪ Provide full engineering support to shop floor operators during slow build of new assemblies.▪ Development and monitoring of quality processes including test plans, visual inspection routines, quality notification procedures, and FOD/Flight worthiness checks.▪ Construct and develop PFMEA cards and assembly route cards for each sub-assembly process.▪ Creation, training and distribution of all internal process specifications and safety documentation.▪ Management of engineering change proposals within the configuration group, ensuring all changes are suitable and deciding on impacts to manufacturing/project schedule.▪ Control configuration of all stock which is production relevant to developing product BOM, overseeing material change operations, and ensuring all Change proposals are fulfilled.▪ Control monthly KPI reports including DPU, CPU, Span time, Touch time, and allow visibility of this to the business via use of Visual Management Systems.

  As a Supply Chain Controller for the Laser Centre of Excellence I was a vital part of the team, becoming the “go to” person for SAP expertise, problem solving, and engineering issues.
