Cloud Engineer
-
Jan 2020 - Jun 2021
As a Cloud Engineer at The Instillery, I have worked with the latest cloud solutions to help NZ businesses move to cloud, modernise their applications, accelerate their growth and compete on the world stage.I love to sit side by side with our customers while adopting cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS, and take advantage of the many new ways of working they offer over traditional on-premises or private cloud deployments. Our co-pilot approach means knowedge is transferred as we go, ensuring customers have the skills and understanding to operate the platform once the project has been completed, and plan for what comes next.Given my prior experience with Microsoft 365, I also consult to the Modern Work team as a solutions architect, and assist in a senior delivery/consultant capacity as needed. Project Delivery Engineer
-
Apr 2018 - Dec 2019
As Project Delivery Engineer at The Instillery, I ran technical lead on projects for a number of customers in various industries. These were primarily focused on Microsoft 365 (AzureAD, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint etc) but also occasionally on-premises infrastructure projects (VMWare, Hyper-V, SAN etc) as needed.Part of this role also included architect/solution responsibilities, where I would meet with customers to scope requirements, design solutions and cost them out.Having feet in both camps of design and implementation meant I have regular conversations with customers to understand how they operate, what solutions are available and what industry standards are usually involved. At the same time, I am also responsible for deploying these products to the real world, including having to create robust processes that can be handed over to support teams. Having a constant feedback loop results in reliable, vetted solutions that provide real value to our customers. Show less
