I worked on the CMS FPix upgrade project for the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) with two major roles: database administrator and laboratory technician.During Phase I of the project, I assembled and tested detector components that were installed in the detector early in 2017. Additionally, I was responsible for administrating the database in which detector parts and testing data were tracked. This database was used by people across the nation and beyond, at Purdue University, University of Nebraska, Cornell University, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, Fermi National Laboratories, and at CERN itself. Every module that went into the detector was first graded and evaluated using the database I administrated with functions I designed. Calibration data that was calculated using scripts that I helped write is being used in analysis of the detector data right now, and will be for years. Once I took over from my predecessor, I was the sole developer and designer for the database, primarily utilizing PHP and MySQL, with elements of HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and Python mixed in.With Phase I of the project complete, we began research for the Phase II upgrade of the LHC. I similarly began creating a new database for this work. Show less

I taught several of the laboratory sections for Physics 172, Introductory Mechanics, as well as Physics 272, Introductory Electricity and Magnetism. With the aid of an undergraduate teaching assistant, I oversaw the studies of over one hundred students per semester, teaching essential laboratory concepts and guiding them through practical experiments as well as models utilizing Python and Matlab. In every class, student surveys indicated my teaching was reviewed as significantly above average as compared to my peers. Show less
