There are two software engineers I worked with who stood out as paragons of excellent - one was Greg, and the other was called Simon Middleton. That's all I can say really - you need a Greg in every team.
I worked with Greg at Thermo Fisher for a number of years and found him to be a thorough and knowledgeable engineer, who was 'the man to see' for a whole variety of topics.
