As Flash Forest’s first engineering hire, Greg was responsible for developing the technology to help the company achieve its mission of planting 1 billion trees by 2028.Greg crafted and executed the company's overall technology strategy. Checklick is a web-platform used by sport organizations to evaluate athlete performance. Remember when you took swimming lessons as a kid? Remember coming home with a paper report card at the end of the week? Checklick takes that process online, letting coaches use their own mobile devices to track athletes' progress, and email reports home to parents. Greg was also the creator of Checklick Storefront, a full-featured ecommerce add-on to Checklick. Storefront lets local sport organizations quickly create a web-presence for their sport activities, accept registrations online, and process credit card and offline payments. During Greg's tenure, Checklick had over 130,000 users in 26 countries, and Checklick Storefront sawn 25% year-over-year gross revenue growth since its launch in 2011. As the CTO, Greg was responsible for all UI/UX and backend technology initiatives within Checklick, and managed a team of employees and contracted developers. As the senior product designer at MIBRO, Greg led initiatives to make MIBRO's packaging smaller, more recyclable and kinder to people's hands. MIBRO is a Canadian company that sells hardware and power tool accessories (think: drill bits and saw blades) to national retailers like Canadian Tire, Home Depot, Lowes, Rona and Sears. Many of the store-brands you buy at these stores (MasterCraft, Craftsman, etc) are actually designed and packaged by MIBRO. Greg was responsible for delivering innovative and attractive packaging designs for MIBRO's products. Greg also designed space and cost efficient merchandising systems (such as racks, hangers and other devices) to showcase and sell MIBRO's products in store. As Mako's Lead Industrial Designer, Greg helped Mako's clients design and mass produce their invention ideas, and get their products on store shelves. Greg was an electrical engineer on Connell Wagner's Optus team, and managed the concurrent rollout of nearly 100 cellular base stations for Australian carrier Optus. Greg also designed the power systems and protective earthing systems for 140 cell phone towers and antenna installations. Greg also played a critical role in winning bids for design work for state-owned RailCorp electrical systems, resulting in new billings totaling over $1,500,000.
