Responsible for managing foremen and jobs through scheduling, cost analysis, Project Manager communication, and operational expertise. Reports to Construction Manager to maximize equipment utilization and production rates. 1. Working closely with the Construction Manager; a. Facilitates the completion of all projects and is responsible for the productive, profitable, efficient, ethical and safe completion of all construction projects. b. Manages, mentors, and trains Site Supervisors and holds each accountable to their job duties. c. Develops, maintains and executes the procedures, systems and safety plans as outlined by Stqo:ya Construction; in accordance with industry standards and legal practices. d. Identifies and mitigates any/all potential risks and liabilities that may be present or may arise during the completion of projects. e. Ensures the maximum efficiency and productivity of all crews, employees and equipment in a safe, ethical and fair manner. f. Performs post-job evaluation i) Ensures the post-job information is channeled back to the Manager of Engineering to enhance the company’s future business developments, training and standard procedures. 2. Managing crews a. Mentors Foremen in operations, schedule, and job ownership, by Bi-weekly reviewing %-complete of job schedule items Operational planning to meet six-week look-ahead schedule goals. Effectively allocating resources between foremen (or crews if no foreman) to meet schedule goals. iv) Collaborating with foremen to develop high-performing crew combinations. 3. Liaising with Project Managers a. Reviews contract requirements and drawings to i) Confirm PM’s procurement schedule leads to timely delivery of correct materials. ii) Ensure construction methods suit specifications & commitments. b. Reviews Project Schedule: i) Prioritize critical path tasks to achieve specific milestone dates. ii) Identify methods to optimize billable work and meet forecasted project revenue Show less
