As Program Outreach Coordinator, I contribute in the coordination and implementation of research studies funded by the NIH and NSF. These studies work in an ongoing partnership with disadvantaged schools across a 14-county region that serve as a pipeline for teacher and student recruitment, training and mentorship in bioscience, with a particular focus on genetics. I am responsible for participant recruitment, data collection, data management, and some aspects of participant training. I frequently interact with participants in-person, via e-mail and over the telephone, in order to fulfill study retention and data collection goals.
