I walked into Drift Lodge, expecting the same old story, and Brent didn't even blink as he said "let's get you set up!". He showed me pictures of Grant with three huge fish from the day before (and a bigger grin on his face!) and said, "If Grant's not guiding, he's fishing" and I said, "That's the guy I want!". What an outstanding choice! Grant Sergeant is a fantastic guide! His positive, upbeat attitude towards everything made him a real joy to fish with. Yesterday on the Madison in West Yellowstone was one of my all-time favorite fishing days. I have been hiring guides for twenty years now, and I can truly say Grant is at the very top of my list of outstanding guides. My knees are feeling the effects of many sports and military injuries from my early life, and he was very careful to take me places with easy access and plenty of fish, and more than once saving me from a sit-down in the river! An unexpected experience was when a family of four huge otters popped up in the river very near us and complained to us for messing with their fishing hole! It was better than a NatGeo documentary! When I got home from thiss half-day trip my wife kept looking at me and saying "You're still smiling!", and I said, "this was the best day of our six week vacation!"
