My tenure at the lumberyard was an unforgettable experience that shaped my character and honed my skills. As a physical laborer, I was tasked with some of the most challenging and grueling tasks at the yard - from cleaning up oil spills to organizing stacks of lumber, laying down railroad ties, managing waste, and ensuring that everything was in its proper place. Despite the grime and the dirt, I embraced the work with a sense of purpose, knowing that the physical nature of the job was building my strength and imparting a valuable lesson in discipline and hard work. The hands-on, practical experience I gained at the lumberyard was invaluable, providing me with a deeper understanding of the value of manual labor. It has also made me more appreciative of my post-secondary education opportunities and the privilege that comes with it.
