  I was involved with the creation and update of project plans for heavy offshore pipe and cable lay equipment using Primavera P6 planning software for this design and manufacture company. I worked directly on a £31 million project and I communicated with cross functional teams on a regular basis and attended regular planning and production meeting both on and off site. My duties included informing Project Managers and Project Engineers of the project status and preparing fortnightly and monthly reports for presentation to the client.   This oil & gas contract-based planning role involved working between two sites – Swan Hunters N.E. Wallsend and McNulty’s Yard, South Shields to complete the manufacture of subsea pipeline structures for Allseas and ultimately Total. Using Microsoft Project 2010, I was responsible for the generation of the manufacturing & testing plan for pipeline structures known as ILTs and FLETs (In-Line Tees and Flow Line End Terminations) as well as the associated barge operations plans for Titan Heavylift Ltd. I subsequently had to take into account the timings of high and low tides as well as water depths into my planning. I had regular contact with subcontractors though meetings – both planned and ad-hoc – and my duties also included the generation of a plan to show work based activities by discipline using Microsoft Excel.   This high profile planning role involved the generation, update, communication and reporting of large scale marine project plans for a major ship repair and conversion company in the North East. I generated plans derived from reading and interpreting owner’s specifications and estimator’s breakdowns, usually in conjunction with the Project Manager. I was responsible for issuing, updating and amending these plans as well as working in close liaison with estimating, production, project and subcontract staff to ensure maximum effectiveness and usefulness. My last project was working on the £55 Million Aircraft Carrier Project and I assisted in preparing weekly reports covering areas including earned value, scheduled performance indicators (SPI) and cost performance indicators (CPI). In addition I was the Energy Champion for my department, which is aimed at reducing the companies CO2 emissions and I spearheaded switch-off campaigns and energy-saving initiatives. Show less
