I started feature writing for the Irish Times in January, 2018. My features have included a piece from inside the United Nations HQ on the Irishman who is head of safety and security there to a rather fruity feature on a lovely Irish grannie who runs the only sex shop in Waterford city. I've written about young undertakers, tea ladies, children's graveyards, Papal visits, radio presenters and Buddhist Temples. Much more to come. During my six years with the Irish Independent I worked with the features team and covered everything from life in a Western Saharan refugee camp to General elections and economic turmoil in Greece. I travelled to Romania to track down Daniel Timofte - the man who missed 'that' penalty against the Republic of Ireland in Italia '90! This feature was nominated for 'Sports Story of the Year' for the 2016 Newsbrand National Journalism Awards. Additionally I worked as a reporter for the Irish Independent and submitted material for the online arm of the title independent.ie. Have particular interest in politics, history and international stories. I was also nominated as Feature Writer of the year in 2017.
