Responsible for leading the Humanities faculty in the secondary school. Overseeing Geography, History, Religious Studies, Business Studies, Economics, Sociology, and Psychology. The summer before I started (Summer 2012) the results for Geography and History were 26% and 35% A*-C respectively. These increased in 2013 and by 2014 all subjects exceeded 70% A*-C. In 2016, my last set of results Geography obtained 80%, Religious Studies 96%, and all other subjects 75% or higher. I was also responsible for Group 3 subjects in the International Baccalaureate; and across Group 3 there were 10, IB 7s in a cohort of less than 40. As part of my leadership and management role I was responsible for monitoring and raising the quality of teaching and learning. In addition, as part of my role leading the faculty I was responsible for overseeing department budgets, assisting with recruitment, and staff performance management. As a class teacher, I personally taught Geography in KS3, KS4 and Post-16. I also taught A Level Government and Politics. My classes consistently met or exceeded expected progress based on FFT at the 25th percentile. Show less

In this role I organise and run training courses that lead to candidates obtaining their National Pool Lifeguard Qualification. This involves teaching lifeguarding theory, first aid, CPR and water rescue skills. I am also required to maintain accurate records and detailed reports on candidate performance. An external assessor then assesses the competency of the candidates I train, and I have a 100% pass rate. I also assess the competency of other candidates at other training centres. Responsible for leading a team of 25 staff to run a summer camp for boys aged 11 - 18. Duties included supervising staff, ensuring a safe environment, and a quality program for all the campers. In this role I was required to train the volunteers and paid employees to ensure they delivered a safe programme that met the BSA National Standards. Previous to this I spent a number of summers working at the camp in different capacities ranging from aquatic instructor to waterfront director.
