In this role I provided support to the International Student Support Team, assisting with all events including International Student Orientation Programme (ISOP). I helped new international students at UCL settle into their new life in London by offering advice on everything from student bank accounts, finding accommodation to where to go to have fun.

During my time at Barclays I worked in the technology office of international headquarters amongst many project managers and senior leaders. It was my responsibility to create an automatic report generator removing the laborious task of manually sorting thousands of entries from a database to produce the reports. After creating the report generator, I then had to conduct a training session and create instructive literature for the end user which helped develop public speaking confidence. Throughout the internship I also worked on creating a business case for a live project that Barclays were developing. This experience helped me to develop strong leaderships skills as I took a managing role within the team, organising meetings, coordinating with sponsors and informing them of progress, as well as ensuring each member of the team knew their responsibilities. At the end of the project we were required to present our case in front of senior leaders at Barclays from which we received very positive feedback on our efforts and the cohesion of the team. After completing my A-levels a year early, I decided to take a year out of studying and got a job in order to help finance my degree. While working at Ecoburotic it was my responsibility to generate new clientele in a previously uncharted area for the business. I regularly hit sales targets and generated over 150 new customers for the company during my time there. A typical day involved effectively managing time with customers in order to reach monthly targets as quickly as possible. This experience developed excellent communication skills which were necessary in order to liaise with clients as well as company offices in France and Belgium. Show less
