  I began work helping a peer's senior thesis project taking place in the fish lab at Kalamazoo College. Once that experiment was done I began running my own senior thesis project examining the relationship between the severity of daily temperature fluctuations in the environment and the sex ratio of Atlantic Silverside (a fish that is known to use Temperature Dependent Sex Determination) reared in those environments. Duties include monitoring mortalities in the fish population, helping feed and clean growth chambers, photographing/measuring fish, maintaining the lab equipment, and experimental design.   I have processed and interpreted data gathered on a population of blue whales in New Zealand. Data analysis includes organization of photos, matching of photos to the preexisting catalogue, presentation of the information at a conference, and the assistance of the interpretation of data into a blog post. The poster presented at the conference (see attachment) was awarded "Best Undergraduate Poster" with a prize of $250.
