Day to day responsibilities included being an on-the-floor leader and supervisor of primary school children before and after school, and during vacation care. I oversaw 60-80 children and 6-8 staff at any given time, ran programs, ensured upkeep of WHS policies and liaised with parents and families. I was also the joint head of documentation and developed programs to enhance children’s learning, critically reflected on the centre and developed, formalised and implemented the centre’s quality improvement plan. I completed Network child protection training to be eligible as Responsible Person on duty when required and first aid training including CPR. When elected Social Coordinator for NEWSKI I was responsible for the creation and promotion of content, events and initiatives for one of the largest social and sporting clubs at UNSW. I organised and lead two ski trips to New Zealand and Japan for 90 and 45 students respectively alongside our exec team. I also managed social and digital media content to promote events, initiatives and trips. I liaised with venues and promoters to organise a number of social events and mixers on and off campus, as well as in New Zealand, including the inaugural Snow Ball which was a wild success and is now a staple of the NEWSKI events calendar.
