As a Gleaning Team Leader, I lead volunteer groups in collecting unsold produce at farmers markets across Los Angeles and Ventura Counties to be donated to local food banks and shelters. At small markets, GTLs glean on our own. We distribute empty Food Forward boxes to participating vendors who would like to donate, collect the food donations at the end of the market, weigh and record the donations, and prepare the produce for pick-up by Food Forward’s partner hunger relief agencies. After the markets I input data into our records including which farms donated what amounts and types of produce/food, and to which donation center(s) we gave. Show less

I was the Distance Coach for the Geffen Academy at UCLA Track & Field team during their Spring 2022 season. I worked mainly with high schoolers but coached middle schoolers sometimes as well. I formulated and presented mid-distance and distance workouts for 800m, 1600m, and 3200m runners, ran with the team on long runs through the city, led core workouts, and promoted general team coordination and morale. As a Lifeguard at Hollow Rock, I watched up to twenty-five adults and children in the pool at a time, monitored and modified pool temperature, managed deck cleanliness, and directed and assisted patrons. Venturing outside of the lines of my job description, I advocated for the addition of recycling bins to the pool deck and club and the use of reusable towels and spray cleaners for cleaning tables rather than single-use wipes to reduce waste. I obtained CPR and AED certification for this job. I worked as a Lifeguard for Triangle Aquatics in my local neighborhood pool while simultaneously Lifeguarding for Hollow Rock Racquet & Swim Club. I was able to manage my two work schedules and allocate ample time to both jobs, though Hollow Rock was my main location. Triangle Aquatic Center is an overarching organization that oversees many pools in my area. With them I worked at Garrett Farms and Hasentree Country Club. With Triangle Aquatics I would often be the only lifeguard or one of two working, so I performed more managerial roles. I watched up to twenty-five adults and children at a time, measured chemical levels of the pools, and managed the pools. Show less
