Mar 2023 - Present
Working at Pi Comms allows me to work at three different locations; in the office, at public inquires, or at live broadcasting events, primarily in Stormont. This job covers a plethora of skills, but the common denominator is quick-thinking. As a copywriter, my primary tasks include bid writing, document editing, and market research. In public inquiries, I operate the EPE (Electronic Presentation of Evidence). This is a large database of the evidence required for each day’s sitting. It needs updated each morning, and manual live functioning during the inquiries. I work closely with the legal team, Chair and council, and the witnesses that day to ensure all proceedings operate smoothly. At live broadcasting events, I work primarily as a runner/assistant to the producer. Pi Comms holds the contract for all broadcasting at Stormont, including the assembly and senate sittings. For example, during the 25th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement, there were two large events that we were responsible for broadcasting. I worked on the setup/takedown of equipment beforehand and afterwards, including cleaning, recycling, crowd safety, and care of hardware. During the live event, I was in the wings to provide assistance. I was also operating in the Control Room on remote cameras or sound mixers. Show less

CIT Director
-
Jun 2022 - Aug 2022
Through the Camp America program, I worked at Camp Bonnie Brae as the CIT Director; a role that put me in charge of the oldest campers (15-17) that were training to be staff themselves next year. I was in charge of preparing the CITs for the challenges they would face during the transition from camper to staff. As a counselor, I was responsible for the campers' safety and happiness. This included everything from supervision at meal times to leading specialist activities such as kayaking, hatchet throwing, and camping. It was a very hands-on job that requires a balance of focus, energy, and quick thinking. I worked with constantly changing, and unpredictable, elements; such as extreme weather and the emotions and interpersonal relationships between campers. It was an extremely rewarding job that brought out strengths and resourcefulness in me. Show less

I was commissioned to partake in a special compilation of prose and poetry to mark the centenary of the founding of Northern Ireland. My story, "Scrubbing Day", is a modern Gothic Horror piece about the experiences of working-class women during the period of violence known as The Troubles. The final compilation was called "Awkward Middle Children", and was available on the high street in Northern Ireland based bookstores.
