The Archives holds records created by the federal government and these records are increasingly used by government agencies and members of the public.I continued to represent the NAA through a variety of different groups including the Victorian Aboriginal Advisory Group and the Victorian ANZAC Centenary Network and recently participated in the Council of Australasian Archives and Records Authorities 2014 Residential Program. In this role I worked across the National Archives of Australia and the Public Record Office Victoria as records relating to Aboriginal affairs are located with both organisations. Here I responded to reference enquiries, managed volunteers who were working on projects related to Aboriginal records, dealt with key stakeholders like the Koorie Heritage Trust, Link Up and Connecting Home as well as giving numerous talks about the Archives to the Aboriginal community.

As an Access Services Officer I assisted members of the public, as well as staff from government agencies, access records in Public Record Office Victoria’s (PROV) collection. This required a sound knowledge of the collection, which continued to develop throughout my years at PROV.I actively trained new staff and pushed for the development of How to Guides, a reference tool for researchers that is now a key resource for the public.During my time in this role I also gave numerous talks on PROVs collection and participated in open days like Shake Your Family Tree Day.
