    • ‘Portrait of a Woman’ Photography Exhibition
      • May 2019 - Jun 2019

Part of ‘Are We Artists Now’ group exhibition in the NTU Photo Festival 2019 This photo series was a journey on bringing together the woman in her life through medium format photography, Grace Kendall’s work considers the intangible connection that women share. It intends to explore the question, what does it mean to be a woman? On this journey? In this body? How does the answer to these questions shift as a result of the paths we find ourselves down? and what answers unite us all as women. Our life choices; in some capacity, define the women we become. Whether those choices have been made for ourselves or for others. This work does not aim to capture the essence of everything a woman is in a single photograph, but shed light on the many facets of identity a woman can possess. Presenting the subjects as not just a mother, a grandmother or a sister but an identity that transcends just a label. Show less

    • ‘Shifting from Stereotypes’ Photography exhibition
      • Feb 2018 - Feb 2018

Part of the group exhibition ‘Catalyst’ In Grace Kendall’s portrait series she explored the toxic labels surrounding men of colour that hinder themselves from showing different sides of their personality. Exploring this notion through the men around her she used photography as a tool to expose the femininity within their masculinity, often something that they have felt they needed to hide within the black culture and outside of it. These portraits examine looking at the men behind the social stereotypes to help them detach from the aggressive stereotype label. Show less
