Key functions as Union Secretariat includes managing delegate leave, union engagement programmes, and being the key point of contact for bargaining matters. Role activities; • Provide policy and procedural advice to managers and HR staff across regions • Create and maintain HR policies and processes for the organisation to mitigate risks • Case management of Disciplinaries, Grievances, Performance Management Issues, Absence Management etc. • Assist external legal counsel with preparation of matters in the Employment Relations Authority • Develop relationships with the business to promote good employee relations across the organisation • Monitor trends in employment practices and legislative changes and advise the business on appropriate proactive action • Provide guidance and coaching on disciplinary processes, performance management methods and grievance management • Provide assistance to Senior Leadership team with application of their strategic vision. • Plan and facilitate Organisation Development activities • Participate in Collective Bargaining to provide support with policies and processes & Union liaison Show less

In this role, I established new student groups, such as the Sustainability Committee, and worked alongside the resident committee to help engage with and support the students' voice within the Hall. Tasks included social and academic event management (scheduling, planning, and overseeing the RA teams progress), and facilitating student-led committees, events, and initiatives.
