Jay Munro
Grace worked in my Copywriting team at Leadable and I was immediately impressed with her high-quality copy and broad knowledge of many industries. She hit the ground running thanks to her highly-motivated and self-disciplined attitude, not to mention her wide experience in content creation and copywriting in previous roles. She took feedback on board very positively and was ideally suited to Leadable's collaborative culture. She brought lots of innovative ideas to our team meetings and was an excellent addition to the team. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Grace to a prospective employer.

I write honest personal essays exploring thoughts and ideas on everything from how a swim fixes my brain after it's been fried to practicing mindfulness, knowing and growing your food, and the importance of home. Equal parts dorky and philosophical. Interviews and podcasts with inspiring folk on creativity, travel, parenting, growing food and Ted Lasso soon to come. English Second Language Teacher
-
Aug 2018 - Sep 2018
An NGO led intensive 66 hour English language and culture course for refugees from Latin America, I was the lead teacher for adults students ranging in ages 17-48. Assisting in pastoral care, cultural integration, employment referral, immigration advice and day to day issues. All associated administration from student registration to weekly government report and final report for funding assessment. All the students had recently arrived and became eligible for funded English language classes to improve their English skills and employability. My students were beginner-elementary and required careful planning, preparation and patient tutoring in each and every class. Having taught Kurdish refugees ten years previously, I could see clearly how my teaching had grown and developed to make me suitable to work with the challenges and pressures of teaching a low level refugee class as well as mentoring a teaching assistant. It is impossible to overestimate the amazing feeling of helping and supporting students of different nationalities and backgrounds to overcome their language and cultural difficulties and succeed.
