I currently work as 1 of 2 athletic trainers at Brewton Parker College. I work for a third party called Optim Health Systems. I provide coverage to half the sports as my companion athletic trainer covers the other half. Most of my work days start off with evaluations and treatments of injured athletes, documenting and communicating with coaches on the status of their athletes and covering practice and games to provide immediate medical care to the injured. I was an outreach athletic trainer at a 2A school in Waldorf, MD at Thomas Stone High School. Due to my very large coverage my job was more about injury prevention (I helped with strength and conditioning techniques to help improve joint health) and first aid responder. Establishing a very good rapport with my athletes was key I keeping my athletes honest with me and the referral process wasn't difficult with their compliance. In the summers I help Proflex in leading summer camps that was meant… Show more I was an outreach athletic trainer at a 2A school in Waldorf, MD at Thomas Stone High School. I provided athletic training coverage to the men's soccer team. I traveled with them to most of their away games and attended 100% of the home games. I spent all of my time evaluating injuries and distinguishing the severity of the injuries to determine the duration of being out of play, most of the injuries I dealt with was manageable to prevent further injury.
