Gord Griffiths was one of the major reasons why I joined what was Quebecor Printing Inc. Gord has terrific common sense instincts, gets things done in a hurry, builds a great team and just knows how to stay focused and make money. When he chose to leave Quebecor Printing it was a tremendous blow to the company, a sentiment that I know that is (and was) shared by equals and a loyal following. Effective leaders in my view are best judged by what happens immediately after they leave. Fortunately for QPI, Gord built up a great team of senior operating executives that continued to effectively manage strategies forged by Gord, securing QPI's market leadership for years after his departure. I feel these attributes could be deployed in a most effective manner in his new venture.
