      Itoh Laboratory from the department of electrical and electronic engineering in Nagaoka University of Technology is one of the largest research groups in Japan. Currently, the lab has more than 30 research titles with more than 15 corporate companies researching on power converters and motors for the application of renewable energy systemsKey responsibilities:- Researched and studied on the next generation power conversion systems for hybrid electric vehicle, electric vehicle and smart grid applications.- Simulated and analyzed DC/DC, AC/DC and AC/AC converters, including design of control techniques and loss modeling for various converters. ( PLECS, Matlab, PSIM)- Designed, developed and troubleshoot industrial standard prototypes for experimental evaluation, including low cost hardware/PCB design, wiring, switching device/ passive components selection, and LC filter design- Tested and evaluated motor performances with various motor control techniques such as vector control, dead-beat direct torque control, and Volt/Hertz control. Motors including Interior permanent magnet synchronous machines and Induction motor - Developed, programed and customized DSP and FPGA (Actel based)- Supervised and lectured a number of 50 student including bachelor students, master students, doctoral students, exchange students and industry partners- Organized and exercised teaching for large groups, including lab session, tutorial, seminar talk, and conference presentation. - Managed and controlled the research process in line with the corporate company’s plan (research fund sponsors)- Ensured the quality and standard of the research meets the corporate company’s goals.- Published and presented research works in domestic and international conferences.- Participated in developing research relationships with University and industrial.
