As part of my PGCE training my second (long) placements currently Ashington High School. Here I am continuing to develop and perfect all the requirements of becoming an outstanding secondary school teacher. My current timetable sees me working with pupils of a vast variety of backgrounds who all present their own unique challenges, an opportunity I am enjoying hugely. I already have developed excellent working and professional relationships with the science department and SMT at Ashington High and will continue to do so throughout this placement. I have already demonstrated my commitment to the school, attending regular CPD sessions and worked closely with my Year 10 form group on a number of PSHE based lessons. During this placement I am predominately teaching physics to GCSE level & Biology and Psychology to A-Level students. Along side my teaching I am becoming more involved with the school's non-mainstream education centre, to develop my abilities of teaching more challenging individuals and SEN Students; as well as involving myself fully with other extra curricular activities.
