  My undergraduate research was supervised by Dr. Cheryl Rockwell, in connection with determining if Nrf2 activation may regulate Th17 cells' (CD4+ T cell subset) differentiation. I isolated T-cell splenocytes and then used ELISA and flow cytometry to identify, modulate, and understand the effects of tert-Butylhydroquinone, a food additive, and an Nrf2 activator, on Th17 cells.
