  First 17 years in High Point, NC. Next 15 years at ASU and working in Boone/Blowing Rock area. 1985 moved down the mountain to Charlotte. Got real estate license in 1985 and became real estate appraiser in 1986. Have been a full time realtor since 2012 and realized that is what I should have been doing all along. My appraisal background gave me an in depth knowledge of this area and a great awareness of the subtleties of this unpredictable market. Although I enjoyed my work as an appraiser, I can’t imagine doing anything but being a realtor. I love working with people and I love helping my clients buy or sell a home, find a great restaurant or find the best vet in the area. My clients often become friends, my coworkers are the best and, occasionally, I can find a little free time. It’s a great job! In that rare “free time” I just mentioned, I try to volunteer for local nonprofits and especially animal welfare groups. I also donate $500 from each real estate transaction to my client’s favorite nonprofit organization. Makes real estate even more fun. Working with great folks and donating to good causes are the best reasons I know not to retire and I don’t plan on retiring anytime soon! Show less
