I am responsible for the book manufacturing at the CPI digital site, Eastbourne. We produce runs of between 1-200 copies using Digital toner, inkjet web presses, and a wide range of book finishing equipment. During the first two years when I moved back to Eastbourne, I oversaw the installation of an inkjet web press, new binding line and a range of case bindery machinery. I lead a team to redesign and rebuild the entire workflow to suit our new market demands. Main Roles include, • Identifying and delivering continuous improvements within the business • Manage the performance of all operational KPIs including Health and Safety • Manage maintenance of all factory machinery • Liaising and working with manufacturers and suppliers • Overall responsibility for the P&L, especially labour, repairs and maintenance • All Staff activities (100+ employees) I have also specified, designed and implemented many new processes and systems across the company. General Manager of Manufacturing (Digital)
-
Oct 2012 - Jan 2017
I was responsible for the book manufacturing at the three CPI digital sites; Melksham, Chippenham and Eastbourne. These three sites produce runs of between 1-2,000 copies using Digital toner, inkjet web presses, sheet-fed lithographic presses and a wide range of book finishing equipment. During the first few years when I moved to Wiltshire I supported the installation of two HP inkjet web presses, two Kolbus binding lines and a range of case bindery machinery. In 2015 I was responsible for delivering a PoD workflow that enabled CPI to use the power of inkjet web presses for single copy printing, this was a completely new offering in CPI UK. I also had the pleasure of supporting the workflows expansion into CPI Germany in 2016. Show less
