Wednesbury I am responsible for the running of the Testing Laboratory, ensuring all equipment in the laboratory is kept within calibration, and monitoring of the environment to ensure it is kept within the control limits. I’m point of contact for our third party approver UL (United Laboratories) and perform the electrical and mechanical tests on the product to BS EN 60601-1, BS EN 60601-2-38 & BS EN 60601-2-52 as part of the UL Witness Test Program. I am involved with the creation and approval of test plans, test protocols and test reports as well as overseeing product testing by other people within the Design R & D department. I have the support of a Test Engineer who reports to me and assists me in the product testing and reporting activities. I am responsible for the verification and validation activities on new or existing products against the design requirements and engineering change notes. Before any testing is completed the parts being tested would need to be inspected by myself, or I would verify any supplier reports prior to testing. I liaise with suppliers taking them through the approval process, verify and approve their production samples dimensional and mechanically and review of PFMEA and Control Plans.

Customers include NHS and other health authorities around the world or other subsidiaries of Huntleigh Healthcare. • Customer and supplier visits to discuss Quality issues, • Evaluating returned product or customer complaints, arrange returns collection or service engineers to visit the customer, putting corrective actions in place internally or with suppliers. • Internal and supplier audits, • Calibration of internal equipment, • Supplier sample approvals, • Holding weekly meetings on customer complaints with production department. • Producing operation assembly instructions, including Quality Bulletins. • I instigated a paperless system for ISIR approvals and goods inwards inspection. • Report writing to the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) on incidents in the field, this would include a full investigation, conclusion and with actions to be taken. • Operating a Faro portable CMM arm. • Introduced the control and monitored the welding validation of all the welding personnel on site and all end of line inspectors. • Introduced the welding validation process of the robotic welding machines. • Internal Auditing.
