  Management of the maintenance and evolution process for three key components of the Combat Management System “Athena C” developed and installed by Selex-ES S.p.A. on more than twenty warships belonging to five different classes of ship of the UAE Navy.The key components, also known as Technical Base includes: MDW (Middleware): communication services, distributed replicated database service, time management service, geo-mathematical calculations utility library;SCM (System Control and Management): management of tactical nodes, tactical software failures recognition and recovery;HPD (Hardware Monitoring): hardware continuous check, hardware failures recognition, software installation utilities.During this activity I was responsible of a small team of three persons. My responsibility includes: Management of the analysis, allocation and planning process for the fix of SPRs (Software Problem Report) and of SCPs (Software Change Proposal);Bug fix and implement new features;System integration support for the CMS (Combat Management System).All these components are developed in complex C++ using either templates, STL date types, threads, exceptions and so on. They make use of CORBA standard through its implementation ACE-TAO. In this context, I worked in a complex environment and I faced and solved a lot of problems about multithreading, data structures, algorithms and inter process communication either with the help of code analysis tools like Parasoft Cpptest, Parasoft Insure++, Valgrind and the debugger GDB.
