- During the watch Responsible for the safety of navigation and the ship.- Support the VPO in preparing the voyage planning, as needed. In particular sharing the VP before presenting to Master’s approval.- Responsible for charts and nautical documents inventory and correction, as required by National and International regulations. Manage Digitrace/Chart world programs.- Prepare and file the portfolios utilized for VP and Port briefings/debriefings.- Study and prepare the cruise itinerary plans.- In charge of the education and professional development of Junior Officer, involving him in duties both during and while off watch and over viewing off watch activities.- In charge of the technical/nautical education of the Cadet especially for what concerns the watch routine. Manage the related Cadet Record.- Assist the Deputy Captain and the Safety Officer for technical duties and in particular in relation to Safety (i.e. Crew training and drills), as required.- Responsible for the education and training of the Crew in relation to Safety and Occupational Health.
