The project was carried out as part of the "Advanced corporate finance course" and carried out in collaboration between the University of Pisa and Welcome Italia s.p.a. The students divided into teams were entrusted with the task of drawing up a Business Plan and developing a Business intelligence system starting from the model used by Welcome Italia s.p.a. company operating in the telecommunications sector. Main activities carried out during the project: -analysis of internal feasibility -external feasibility analysis (ICT sector analysis: entry barriers, competition, sector growth rate, SWOT analysis, etc ...) - economic-financial analysis (analysis by indices and restructuring of the financial structure) -development of the commercial-marketing plan (market survey, creation and monitoring of positioning maps, elaboration of commercial-marketing strategies) - design of an App for Welcome Italia and simulation of its launch on the market, assuming different return scenarios related to the investment in the same - preparation and discussion of the final presentation of the project. Following the positive outcome of the project, the University of Pisa and Welcome Italia created a network involving other local companies in the Business Plan in Progress project. Each team was assigned a company, each operating in different sectors. The teams were asked to develop a Business Plan and implement a Business Intelligence system created specifically for the company being analyzed. Show less

The Business Plan in Progress project consists of an initiative promoted by Professor Giovanna Mariani of the Department of Economics and Management and Stefano Luisotti, CEO of Welcome Italia, who gave the participating students the opportunity to actively collaborate with companies for a project of planning. The following companies Michie Mouse, Pertici Industries, Wi-Tech (Claud4Wi), Femme by Michele Rossi, Micky Mouse Center Viareggio have in fact decided to join the project and collaborate with small groups of students in order to draw up a real business plan, using a planning format based on a mathematical model developed by Welcome itself for its planning, budgeting and control activities.
