As a program manager I am in charge of handling clients' cases, future and present clients. I am also responsible for managing and recruiting potential staff members, and scheduling their hours through the weeks. For each client I'm responsible for submitting monthly reports, and documenting progress notes. Some direct support work is involved to ensure the clients needs are being met whether it's scheduling appointments for clients or helping the clients with life skills. I worked at True north part time while I was working at Focus behavioral health, and my duties included monitoring the clients' progress and medicine intake. I also documented progress notes, and transported the clients to a day program where they learned work/life skills. although my time at Able Services was short lived I enjoyed working with all the clients. the clients were high school students in emotional support classes, and my job was to monitor their progress, and teach them skills such as communication, problem solving, daily living, and mobility skills. towards the center of my internship I was given the opportunity to expand my creative ideas through music. As a way to motivate and build a connection with the clients I applied some music therapy to my workload. Show less
