  In my work as a researcher, I was part of a select team of students collaborating with NGOs in the investigation of international human rights violations. We were tasked with researching allegations of human rights infringements by government misconduct, which we would then record and collate for the purpose of drafting a memorandum. Not only has this role greatly enhanced my analytical skills and my ability to work as part of a team, but it has also given me the opportunity to work on cross-jurisdictional issues and see how international arbitration and human rights law intersect. This insight has proven invaluable in informing my career aspirations.

  I had the opportunity to shadow an experienced adviser, eventually gaining the confidence to handle a client all on my own. The work included mostly helping clients access social benefits or advising on the appropriate recourse in relation to property disputes. Because of the broad diversity of the clientele, I gained insight on issues ranging from contract law to human rights and immigration law. My role consisted of interviewing the client and compiling an extensive case-file that could be used in the future to help my client.
