Bio
Sharon Chen
It was a pleasure working with Ginny for two years on Seelio's Design Team. Her strengths lie most in her passion for interviewing and working with our users to ensure that our product directly addressed their pains and needs. From asking the right questions to remembering the right names, Ginny always went above and beyond when it came to maintaining relationships with our partners and the students who use our product. While I've seen Ginny mature and develop in many ways during the time we worked together, her passion for people has always been steadfastly strong and I know that she'll bring that same dedication to her future endeavors.

Ginny is a great colleague. She brings joy and inspiration to each project she works on. Working with her the past two years to launch and grow Seelio has been a great experience and Ginny constantly committed herself to doing any task or project, no matter big or small, to help build awareness for the company and create a great experience for students. I know that her persistence and willingness to tackle tough problems will make her an asset to any company that she joins.

Driven by an inherent passion to nurture the team around me, I took on this role upon joining Seelio. - Tasks: plan & do anything that will help people know that they are appreciated and cared for, including a caring conversation, to organizing a company-wide end of year celebration for 25+ ppl. - Impact: help cultivate a space where everyone's potential is developed, and that we enjoy what we do and who we do it with.

UX Designer & Researcher
-
Oct 2012 - Sep 2014
As one of the two sole members of Seelio Design Team, Sharon and I worked on all Seelio web interface, including seven major and fifteen smaller projects. Projects range from a few weeks to a few months. They usually start with user interviews, design assessment & data analysis, followed by 1-3 rounds of paper/digital prototypes and user testings. We wrap them up by working hand-in-hand with the engineering team and conduct follow-up research to assess the impact of the release. Through this experience, I've accumulated intimate knowledge and experience to live/breathe design thinking and to work well with designers & developers. Most importantly, to always find the balance between shipping out the product and shipping it out rightfully.
