Bio
Joyce Owens
I recently met Ginger. Her sensitivity and passion for the arts is apparent when you read about her accomplishments. She also, generously, gives her time, talent and expertise, especially in the area of dance, as a board member with Arts Alliance Illinois.

Only now and again does one walk out of an experience feeling that your world paradigm has changed. Seeing the Iphegenia Cycle at the Court Theater was one of those times in my life. I was not a huge fan of live theater, having developed an opinion that too much of live theater was attempting to create reality on stage. Attempting this worked prior to the early 20th century and before, but since then the invention and evolution of film has made this type of theater going experience, in my opinion, obsolete. The Court Theater was an eye opening experience where the ensemble drew on the immediacy and intimacy of having live performers in front of you without trying to make things seem too much like a poor attempt at depicting reality on stage. The emotional connection with the audience was there because of the direction, chorography, and acting performances and by jettisoning any attempt to emulate a real life feel to the production values. They succeeded brilliantly.
