I served as Deputy Director of the Consumer Protection Unit ("CPU") in the Fraud and Consumer Protection Division. I focused on a wide range of consumer protection issues and specialized in financial exploitation of older adults. I also managed a team of attorneys, special investigators, paralegals, and support staff. Additionally, I served as Chair the Senior Protection Initiative ("SPI") from 2014-2021. The SPI's mission is to Stop Abuse of the Vulnerable and Elderly (SAVE). As a criminal prosecutor for two years, I learned first hand the devastating effect of crime against older and vulnerable adults. The SPI focuses on prevention of elder abuse and exploitation through community outreach and education. My work focused on equipping older and vulnerable adults with the tools they need to protect themselves from financial exploitation-- whether it be by scammers over the phone or trusted caregivers.
