Reporting to the Dean, President CEO, my position’s primary purpose is to provide senior administrative support for the Board of Directors, Academic Council, Joint Senate Committee, the standing committees and the ad hoc committees. Responsible for coordinating and facilitating all activities and communication of the Board of Directors, Academic Council, Joint Senate Committee, and the Standing and Ad hoc Committees to ensure the efficient operation of NOSM’s bicameral system of Governance. As Manager of Policy and Governance Relations I provide strategic advice to the Board and Dean, President and CEO on governance and policy issues, supporting the development of a policy framework and standards, and proactively working to ensure that the institutional obligations are managed. Who is NOSM?: The Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) is committed to the education of high quality physicians and health professionals, and to international recognition as a leader in distributed, learning-centred, community-engaged education and research. The Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) is a joint initiative of Lakehead University in Thunder Bay and Laurentian University in Sudbury. Administration Alumni Development

Serving as an ambassador, the Administration is charged with securing commitments from alumni to provide professional expertise and volunteer service; collaborating with colleagues in the administrative offices (including, but not limited to the Foundation, Advancement, Admissions, Development, Finance and Student Affairs) and the schools to create and maintain pathways for alumni participation that advance the goals of the Institute; partnering with Development colleagues to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward alumni giving; and serving as a liaison between the Alumni Association Advisory Committee and the academic and administrative leadership.
