Cinema Ventures offers an alternative to conventional cinema releasing by working with filmmakers, donors and communities to encourage DIY (Do It Yourself) screenings. Screening a film is an effective way of spreading a message or fundraising for a cause. Never screened a film before? Want to know more about screening fees and copyright? Whether you select a film from our collection or have made one yourself, Cinema Ventures can help! Cinema Ventures is a not-for-profit organisation that secures philanthropy, grants, sponsorships and tax-payer funding to service the distribution of independant film within Australia and New Zealand. Cinema Ventures offers two basic DIY screening models: You:Screen and We:Screen. In both models it will be you holding the screening. You:Screen ----------------- If you want to screen a film at your own cost then purchase a screening fee and Cinema Ventures will ship a DVD to you that you may keep for future personal use after your screening. Screening fees may be purchased by contacting us using the Cinema Ventures enquiry form. Screening fees help support filmmakers dedicated to creating films about issues. For tips on how to run a successful screening, read the Cinema Ventures Screening Success Guide. We:Screen ---------------- We:Screen is a collaboration between us and you: Cinema Ventures organizes and pays for the screening and its associated costs, you screen the film. This model is typically referred to as ‘outreach’ and relies solely on successful fundraising via philanthropy, grants, sponsorships and donations. We:Screen usually suits a filmmaker wishing to self-distribute or a sponsor seeking to tour a specific film. The process starts with your Expression Of Interest and is likely to need a long lead time. Previous We:Screen events have taken the form of screening tours and even pop-up cinemas in communities without screening venues! Read more about our activites on the Cinema Ventures news page.
