Rafael Magaña
I have the pleasure of working with Gilmar J. Flores at Breathe Southern California and the Emphysema Foundation of America for almost two years now. He holds himself and others to high standards inside and outside of work. During our time working together, Gilmar manages and oversees the rapid expansion of our programs across Southern California. He is an expert in his field. I find Gilmar to be organized, hard working, and professional with interpersonal and diplomacy skills; all of which were important when working in public health and research. He is passionate about public health and particularly disadvantaged communities. He has practical programmatic experience and with his leadership and mentorship abilities, he is an asset to our public health programs. Gilmar cares greatly for his work, community and his department of six staff members which he supervises really well. I truly enjoy working with Gilmar and his staff team on various cross department initiatives and programs.
