IDEA is a collaboration between the School of Business and Economics and Wolfson School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering which offers the opportunity to work in partnership to develop a real innovative business. I worked with a small team of students developing our entrepreneurial idea; Ripple - a contactless virtual business and social connectivity app to link people rapidly across multiple media platforms. The programme involved market research, technical and design based development of the app and financial planning of the business, before pitching the concept to a group of business experts and professionals. Head Coach
-
Sep 2021 - May 2022
I voluntarily coached the Royce Hall Rugby team at Loughborough University during my final year of study. This involved organising and delivering coaching sessions to a group of 15-20 players twice a week, as well as team planning and matchday leadership. Additionally, I organised a team tour to Cardiff during Easter 2022, which over 35 players and ex-players were involved in. Design Engineering Intern
-
Sep 2020 - Aug 2021
I spent a Year in Industry on placement from Loughborough University, in a Design Engineering intern role at Ransomes Jacobsen in Ipswich. This role heavily involved problem solving; engineering solutions to issues on the fleet of Turf vehicles. I gained a sound understanding of the product development process, from conceptual ideas and background research through to physical prototyping and testing, including manufacturing considerations. Additionally, I learned about the ECO process, improved my teamworking and presentation skills, and developed my understanding of the Turf Industry. Show less
