Gigi joined Development Initiatives on a summer internship and supported me in developing a methodology for assessing suppliers in relation to Modern Slavery. Gigi was also creative and developed an online training solution with on safeguarding and modern slavery. Gigi has a wonderful personality and is an intelligent and conscientious individual. Based on the very short time she was with us, I was certainly left with an impression that she was a reliable person, a self-starter and needed very little line management support. I hope that our paths may cross in the future and wish her lots of success.

Gigi is an intelligent, hard working and amiable person. She is totally trustworthy and reliable. She is quick on the uptake, articulate, empathetic and has writing and oral communication skills well above the average. She can work independently, or as part of a team. She would make a very positive impact on your organisation, particularly to the group that she would work with. I highly recommend her.

During my time as President, I led a committee of 11 people to send out 3 projects promoting WASH to Uganda and Nepal, while also pioneering a brand new project in Ghana. I worked as a team leader while also being a team player within the committee. I effectively delegated work to ensure the charity ran smoothly, while also being in constant communication with the board of trustees to abide by our rules of the charity. I introduced local volunteering into the charity, working specifically with Help the Homeless Bristol. I also introduced a project proposal form to our website which allows charities to propose new projects, which we can then assess to see if they fit our criteria. If a project was chosen we would develop it closely alongside the host charity to ensure that it is an ethical, effective and sustainable project. This ensured that BVDA would progress forward and develop as a charity with the introduction of new projects. Awards:I was shortlisted for Outstanding Individual Contribution Award at the Volunteer Ball Awards Ceremony 2019; BVDA was nominated for best project at the Volunteer Ball Awards Ceremony 2019; as well as the Sustainable Volunteering Award at the SU Awards 2019 Show less
