      Activated as a member of the Incident Management Team to support FL-UAS 1 in response to Hurricane Ian. Personnel from Florida State University’s Emergency Management and Homeland Security Program were deployed for 10 days to provide UAS support in Fort Myers, Florida. Partnered organizations include Missouri Task Force 1, Leon County Sheriffs Office, Tallahassee Fire Department, USAA, as well as many other UAS teams from across the nation. Personal taskings include performing basic FEMA ICS Planning Section functions, as well as supporting Finance and Admin/reimbursement processes. Our team provided maps of affected areas, recovery imagery, urban search and rescue, as well as additional videos and imagery to provide real time situational awareness knowledge. Show less

      -Disaster Response | Hurricane Michael | Panama City/Mexico Beach, FL Partnered with AmeriCorps Disaster Response Team & International Orthodox Christian Charities Provided assistance to a total of 137 households Removed 112,200 pounds of storm debris Mucked and gutted 8 houses - deconstructed homes and performed mold remediation Tarped 13 roofs- attached blue tarps to roofs to prevent water from causing further damage Completed 38 assessments of properties and 37 wellness checks on residents Assisted in American Red Cross shelter for survivors Utilized Crisis Cleanup database to map out assessments, contact homeowners to determine needs and prioritize projects -Environmental Education and Restoration | Point Blue Conservation Science | Petaluma, CA Collaborated with the STRAW (Students and Teachers Restoring a Watershed) program to provide in-class lessons to 446 K-12 students about local environmental issues. Performed restorations in partnership with the Sonoma Land Trust, US Fish and Wildlife Service, Sonoma County Regional Park Services, as well as local ranchers and community members which resulted in the restoration of 3.5 acres of park, 3.3 acres of wetland, and 4.8 miles of streambed. -Addressing Food Insecurity | Helena Food Share | Helena, MT Assisted in the food distribution center, helped the staff to inventory, stock, distributed food to the Helena Community, and collected fresh produce at food drives around the city. -Urban and Rural Development | Habitat for Humanity | Helena, MT Built 6 homes in partnership with families in need - ranging from framing, reading and delegating plans, siding, roofing, painting. -Revitalization of Community Spaces | YMCA Camp Child | Elliston, MT Renovated camp facilities and maintained structures on site.
