``Wind Energy Curtailment for Optimal Operation of Nordic Power Systems Under Uncertainty``.In the thesis work titled-``Wind Energy Curtailment for Optimal Operation of Nordic Power Systems under Uncertainty``, a mathematical model is proposed that optimizes power system operation in the Nordic power systems. The expected cost of wind power forecasting error in conjugation with wind energy curtailment is taken into account. The operational cost of the proposed optimal system operation and the current system operation in the Nordic power systems are compared. The economic value of wind energy curtailment is also evaluated. It is observed that day ahead scheduling considering the expected cost of wind power forecasting error will reduce the total cost significantly. The simulation was done in FICO Xpress optimization tool.
